Thompson Machine, The Tool and Die Group, Inc., occupies a 13,000 square foot facility powered by solar energy. We generate 100% of our requirements. Our facility is operated using green products and practices. Xeriscape landscaping and the use of native plants provides a refuge for birds in the spring and summer.

We are conveniently located in one of Albuquerque’s quality industrial parks, several minutes from the interstate. Support industries are in close proximity.

New equipment investments enable us to utilize the latest technology, to manufacture our customer’s products more efficiently, and pass the cost savings on to them. Continual facility improvements and investments provide the necessary equipment to consistently produce high quality products. Training and educational resources are available so we can stay up to date with the newest methods, products and innovation in our industry.

Engineering and Design utilize SolidWorks and LogoPress3 die design software. MasterCam is used to program CNC machines. Tooling utilizes various equipment including CNC lathes, CNC mills, Wire EDM, Surface Grinders, Heat treat/draw ovens and a multitude of small tools. Pressroom technology incorporates servo presses, straight side presses and air presses for precision tolerance stamping, holding .0005” on some stamped part features. Press size ranges from 5 Tons to 165 Tons. Feed lines are equipped with servo feeders, roll feeders and straighteners for precise material feeding. Quality Assurance and Inspection rely on Co-Ordinate Measuring Machines and Optical Smart Scope equipped with vision, laser and probe measuring capability to .0001”. Inspection equipment is capable of importing SolidWorks files for integrated inspection and tool verification.
